A Mickey Mantle autographed baseball from his 1951 season is currently being offered for sale online at a price of $1,699.99 while another site, which doesn't indicate the year, is offering one for $1,344.15.

A Babe Ruth autographed baseball is one of the most sought after by collectors and is potentially very valuable. Depending on the condition of the ball, the clarity, size and location of the signature, an authentic Babe Ruth signed baseball, especially an official American League ball, can be worth as much as $6,000.

A Willie Mays autographed baseball does not command such a high price, with the average currently being offered for less than $300. A Hank Aaron autographed baseball falls within the same price range with the exception of the Official National League baseball, autographed by the 3000 Hit Club, which includes his signature. Joe Dimaggio autographed baseballs are currently being offered for under $800. The main attraction for the serious collector though is not the cost of the ball, but the player who handled it and his signature, which is the main focus when admiring a collection.
